Three YouTubers to Watch When You Need a Pick-Me-Up

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Ottawa chapter.

When the week somehow keeps getting busier and harder to manage, a wine night with good company seems like the best remedy. Even when the weekend seems to be unbearably faraway, you don’t have to wait till the end of the week to be part of some good conversations. Be it mindfulness or romance, these three YouTube creators share, in the format of short aesthetic videos, very down to earth opinions on topics that might be bothering you.

1. Ashley AKA Bestdressed

Ashley is a New York-based youtuber known for her fashion videos, but those that follow her channel know that her girl-talks are relatable on another, deeper level. When it comes to romance, her ‘boy talks’ discuss very real intimate emotions coming from her own dating experiences. She talks about her thoughts on sexuality, gender expectations, and single life. As a film graduate with a beautiful aesthetic, watching her videos feel like being part of a movie montage of conversations you would have with a close friend.

Check her out if you are interested in topics like fashion, relationships, and most recently quarantine life in New York.

2. Kelly Stamps

Kelly Stamps is currently a New York-based Youtuber, who aims to share the art of living life as you wish. She talks about the beauty of being in peace with solitude, of appreciating small close friend groups, and of not giving importance to others’ negative opinions about yourself. She is an open book when it comes to talking about what it’s like starting a YouTube channel and finding new ways to save money (to pamper yourself later!) Her brand consists of much love for tiramisu, some K-pop references, and mindful practices for achieving peace with who you are.

If you love Italian food, selfcare, and minimalism: Kelly Stamps is a must watch.

3. Damon Dominique

Damon is a Paris-based American Youtuber who travels around Europe, meeting different people and delivering true early-2000s music vibes. In his wine-talk saga, he has conversations with friends about being an American in France, creativity over profit, being present in the moment, social media, and other relevant topics. Whenever he travels to a new destination, he delivers a montage of beautiful videos of places and experiences lived there.

If you want to get a glimpse of the European lifestyle mentality, while listening to different discussions on relevant topics, Damon has a vibrant aesthetic and easygoing vibes to accomplish that.

Ligia Garcia
