While Valentine’s Day is almost always promoted as a day of romantic love, there are other types of love to celebrate this month. This is where Galentine’s Day comes in, which is actually celebrated the day before Valentine’s on February 13th. It’s a day to celebrate your friends and the relationships that may often be overlooked during this time of year. Love is so much more than romantic love, and Galentine’s Day gives the opportunity to celebrate that. So, if you’re going for a more Galentine’s Day style this February, here are some activities to do with your friends!
Bake something
Baking is a fun activity that you can do with all your friends. Everyone can either all collaborate on baking a treat together or make individual treats to then share together. The best of this, besides spending time with loved ones, is the yummy treats awaiting you at the end!
Go for lunch or dinner
Whether you celebrate Galentine’s Day on February 13th or 14th, it will be either a Monday or a Tuesday this year. If you’re swamped with classes, labs, and DGDs, but still want to take time to meet up with friends, then do a lunch or dinner. You have to eat during the day, so why not make that time extra special by being with your friends? You can stay on campus or try any of the restaurants found nearby. One of the perks of a downtown campus is the vast selection of food places in the area!
have a Study date at a coffee shop
This time also coincides with midterms, so a study date at a cute coffee shop is a way to celebrate while still remaining a responsible student. There are a lot of nice coffee shops around campus to choose from for your Galentine’s Day study date—you can also find a nice spot on campus in between classes for a little study session!
These are some ideas to make this day a little more special with friends. It’s always nice to break up the monotony of everyday life with a fun celebration like this. I hope this has given you some ideas to implement, and I hope your day is special and fun!
