School has just started again, but we already have a migraine thinking about all the classes and assignments up ahead. Plus, the cold weather isn’t helping us maintain a good mood. So, we already have one thing on the mind – summer vacation. Indeed, it’s way too early to think about summer break or any break at all, but the thought of being in a warm place gives us hope for getting through this winter semester. In case you want a head start your vacation planning, here are ten places you have to see before you die.

  1. Amalfi Coast: Italy

I’ve learned about this place in a book that I read a while back when I was in high school. The book describes the Amalfi Coast as popular tourist destination where there are a lot of great Italians restaurants, nice people surrounding you and a magnificent view everywhere you turn.

  1. Atlantis Paradise Island: Bahamas

Can someone explain to me why people always go to Cuba or Mexico to enjoy a great beach when they could go to The Atlantis Paradise Island instead? It’s a fabulous resort that has a waterpark, a casino, a hotel, a golf course and many other forms of entertainment. In others words, it’s a little paradise on earth.

  1. Bali: Indonesia

I am going to be honest; I’ve wanted to go there so badly since I saw the last season of America’s Next Top Model. Tyra Banks revealed to the contestants that she goes to Bali to resource herself. So, she brought them there for the last few weeks of the competition. I wish I was one of them! All the contestants were so relaxed. On top of everything, they took a ride on the back of an elephant. (It would make a great facebook profile picture).

  1. Chora: Greece

I can’t even explain why this place is so striking. Just go book a ticket to Greece!

  1. Great Barrier Reef: Australia

Have you ever wanted to go somewhere that you never thought was even possible to visit? In that case, I think you should take your diving equipment and go under the sea because the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland is just ready to be explored!

  1. Iguazu Falls: Brazil and Argentina

The Niagara Falls have nothing on this pure precious jewel. The Iguazu Falls is a waterfall of the Iguazu River in the middle of the tropical forest at the border of Brazil and Argentina. The location may seem complicated but the detour is worth it.

  1. Mont Kilimanjaro: Tanzania

I am not a fan of hiking, but if I do decide to take the chance one day , I couldn’t think of a better place to do it.

  1. Palace of Versailles: France

I hate when people only talk about the Eiffel Tower when they go to Paris. There is so much more to this city than that Tower, such as the Palace of Versailles. I don’t even have the words to explain how beautiful the palace is. I went there last summer and I can guarantee it will blow your mind. Being in that palace is like walking through a maze because you get lost looking at all the wonder. I know I did.

  1. Red Square: Russia

People often talk about Times Squares. However, not many people know that there is a Red Square in Moscow.

  1. Valencia: Spain

There is so much to do in this city – it’s unbelievable. You can visit the City of Arts and Sciences, many museums or the Turia Gardens.

I hope these places give you some ideas for your next vacation! If you do visit any of theses mesmerizing spots, feel free to share your picture with us on Twitter (@HCuOttawa) or instagram (@hercampus_uottawa).
