For many, the best part of summer is sitting out in the sun and enjoying a cold drink. It’s easy to open a cooler and call it a day, but why not branch out and try to create your own delicious drinks?

If you’re looking for new drinks to try, these should definitely be at the top of your summer drink list — not only are they easy to make (just mix the ingredients and enjoy!), but they’re also super delicious!

Frosé

6 cups of frozen fruit

1 cup of ice

1 bottle of rosé wine

1-2 tablespoons of sugar (optional)

Sparkling water to serve (optional)

My fave fruit combinations are: strawberry and watermelon, strawberries and cherries, raspberry and peach, strawberry and peach, or mango and peach.

Blueberry Margaritas

4 cups of tequila blanco

2 cups of triple sec

1 cup of lime juice

3 cups of blueberries

Ice

Salt to rim the glasses

Extra blueberries to garnish

Strawberry Moscow Mule

2 ounces of vodka

½ ounce of lime juice

4 ounces of ginger beer

2 ounces of strawberry simple syrup (you can find a recipe here!)

Watermelon Daiquiri

50 ml of white rum

25 ml of watermelon flavoured liquor

10 ml of lime juice

100 g of watermelon

(and blend!)

Having a few drinks on the patio with friends is always fun in the summer! Remember to drink responsibly and stay hydrated! Drinking in the sun can be dangerous, so don’t forget your sunscreen and a bottle of water.

I’d love to see your versions of these summery drinks! DM pics of your creations to @hcuottawa on Instagram to have them featured!
