So it’s Valentine’s Day and everybody feels like this day is dedicated to couples, and that all the single souls should be miserable. But guess what? Some people actually quite enjoy not being ’caught’ in a relationship on this special day. I interviewed them and here are the main reasons why single people are happy they are single on V-Day, but most importantly why people in a relationship wish they were too.

“Presents”

It seems like the number one reason why you all wish you were single on Valentine’s Day is presents. Indeed, not having a boyfriend/girlfriend means not spending the days before V-Day stressing about getting him/her the perfect gift or even better, not having to spend money.

“Dates”

For men, being single means a not having to think about a romantic date at some wonderful place the girl expects him to take her to.

“Girls night”

What’s better than spending the evening with your boyfriend? Well, spending it with all your single girlfriends. Indeed, it so much fun to spend Valentine’s Day with your single girlfriends!

“Other guys”

It seems like a lot of you single ladies are being asked out for February 14th. As if the romance all around us make guys want to go ahead and tell us they like us.  So if you are single, it is likely that today is the day you will find M. Right.

“No stress”

Okay; now picture yourself in a relationship. What would your Friday 14th look like?  Well, let me tell you: you would be shaving, styling your hair, doing a lot of skin care, choosing the right outfit, wearing make up… all that to look as pretty as possible on that ‘romantic’ day. Guess what? You don’t have to when you’re single!

“It’s not only about having a boyfriend/girlfriend”

Valentine’s day is about celebrating love. So no, you are not really ‘single’ in the way that there are plenty of people that you love and who love you back.

And ultimately, it seems like Valentine’s Day reminds you all how lucky you are to be single, to be free… to not having to tell where you were, with who, doing what. No arguments, no fights, being able to flirt, and to go on dates with handsome guys!
