Nickname: «Dada» or «D»

Year of graduation: 2017

Where are you from?

I am from Laval; however, I was born in Haïti. I’ve been in Canada for 13 years, so I’m more Canadian than Haitian now.

What has been your best experience at University so far?

I haven’t been in school that long, but I have to say that I think that I met the man of my life. There’s this guy in my class, I call him “my sunshine,” and he’s way too handsome. I don’t know if that counts as “a best experience” though!

How are you involved on campus?

Good question!  I’m still in the process of finding something to do. If there’s a step dance crew on campus please contact me. When I say “Step” I refer to dancing like in the movie “Stomp and the Yard” not “stepping” as in to lose weight!

What did you do this summer?

Work, shopping and work.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

Passionate, determined and crazy.

What do you look for in your significant other?

Good communicator. He must have a good spiritual life, because if he can’t get on his knees to ask God for strength and patience to deal with me…. Well, the relationship won’t last long!

What is your biggest turn off?

Oh God, where do I start? I am not asking for a lot, but a guy who doesn’t have nice nails is a big no no. Also, I can’t stand a guy who doesn’t smell good. Oh, and I must add if he doesn’t know how to dress…

Describe your ideal date:

You’re really asking a black girl what’s her best date? EATING!! I ain’t got time for a man to be cute and romantic with me. I just need you to put a plate of rice, beans and chicken in front of me and I am in heaven. Oh, and he can’t forget cheesecake for desert. That’s all I am asking for.

What do you like doing with your free time?

I don’t have free time at the moment but if I did I would sleep.

Which Hollywood star would be your Celebrity Crush?

I have so many celebrity crushes that I can’t pick one. So, I am going to make a list:

  • Micheal Ealy: for his green eyes
  • Terrence J: for his smile
  • Channing Tatum: for his lips
  • Trey Songz: for his body
  • Boris Kodjoe: for his everything

What is your dream job?

I would like to be an ambassador of any country… I wouldn’t say no to Bali.

If you had the opportunity to travel anywhere, where would you go and why?

I would go to India, it’s really weird, but I just love watching Bollywood movies. It’s way better than Titanic. The women are just gorgeous, I love their music, I love their culture and the whole country in general.

Who is your role model?

In the Black community, black women are often given the least highest positions compared to men. However, Michaëlle Jean, Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama are the examples of women who have succeeded in their career. They didn’t let their rough upbringing put them down. They never gave up and always kept their goals in mind. I have so much respect for these women, I hope I have the chance to cross path with all of them.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Married trying to have my first child, working in an embassy and building a resort in Haiti.
