Kelsey: Major in Psychology with a minor in Religious Studies
Etienne: Bachelor of Social Sciences with a specialization in Criminology

Her Campus: Sweet or salty?
K: Salty
E: Sweet

HC: City townhouse or country bungalow?
K: City townhouse
E: City townhouse

HC: Latte or chai tea?
K: Chai tea
E: Latte

HC: When did you two start dating?
K: June 25th, 2012! He’s going to kill me if he knew how much trouble I was having remembering that.

HC: How did you two meet each other?
K: I was 16 and he was 18, it was our first job ever at Dollarama. I even remember that we got trained together. There was this one time – it was so funny – we were stocking Halloween stuff and I jokingly sprayed hair stuff in his hair and he got really mad. Our first conversation was me spraying this crap in his hair. Well… I thought it was funny.
E: We became good friends at work and we started to hangout a lot there. And then I thought, “Oh yay she’s single.” I had to push a lot, too, but I eventually became her boyfriend.

HC: Where do you see each other in five years?
K: I see Etienne starting his master’s degree and maybe in a really nice apartment with a lot of shoes for me. Oh and a dog. More like ten. *laughs*
E: I see Kelsey either pursuing her master’s or I see her changing majors. I think she’ll still be school. Or maybe she’ll find a school job or something cool like that. We’ll probably still be living in the east end of Ottawa.

HC: Describe your first date.
K: Worst. Date. Ever. We went to the movies, didn’t talk the entire movie, and just left. I got home saying it was so bad I never wanted to see him again. But after that, we started Skyping and I fell in love with him. We really laugh at that every day.
E: See, I was new to the dating scene so I wasn’t sure that going to the movies was actually so bad because we couldn’t interact that much. That date happened and then Kelsey refused to see me for six months in person. After work one day she came to my house because her dad was going to be late picking her up. Ever since then it’s been a snowball effect.

HC: What’s your favourite memory of each other?
E: I think back to when Kelsey lived at her old house, it’s super nostalgic because it’s when everything in our relationship started to bloom. It was all such a new experience to me.
K: Mine are definitely those times when we haven’t seen each other in a while. It just makes me realize how much I miss him. When I finally see him after a while of just being by myself all my worries go away. I like those memories; I have a lot of those.

HC: What’s a habit of each other that you can’t stand?
K: When I ask him “do you mind putting this thing away?” He’ll act completely confused.
E: Well that’s ‘cause you’re never specific!
K: Do you want like a map or something?
HC: What about you, Etienne?
E: When someone asks her to get something she always tells me to go get it for her.

HC: If you could have any superpower, what would you have? CATCH: the superpower you have is based on your personality and how you were raised.
K: Bliss. I’ve always been around people who love me, and I know some people don’t really have that. I think I’d want other people to have a really happy childhood like mine, so it would be really nice to be able to have a superpower to emotionally be able to make people feel blissful.
E: I’d say invisibility because I was always a really quiet kid and never really ruffled any feathers. I don’t really like attention.
K: Unlike me
E: Anyway, I like being able to stay in my own bubble sometimes.
