With Donald Trump’s tariff war against Canada, things have gotten more expensive and will continue to become more expensive. To support our own, the Buy Canadian movement has taken Canadians by storm, with empty shelves of Canadian products and full shelves of American ones. Luckily, some Canadian companies have been loud and proud in their support and solidarity for Canada. Here are 15 Canadian products and companies to support to keep your money in Canada and further develop Canada’s domestic economy.

Chapman’s ice cream

Not only are Chapman’s frozen treats delicious, but they have taken big strides this year to make it a little easier for their Canadian consumers during the tariff war. They will be absorbing tariffs for 2025, so their prices will not increase for the rest of the year. Additionally, Chapman’s is ending their decades-long relationships with their American suppliers, in order to find Canadian and international suppliers instead.

Saje natural wellness

Saje aromatherapy is perfect for stress-management during exam season! I love the Yuzu uplift essential oil, and they also have a whole “Stress Relief” line!

Cedar valley

A Lebanese-Canadian family owned business. Their garlic and herb pita chips (among other flavours) are super yummy! Their chips are also made without seed oils, so they’re a tasty AND healthy choice.

la maison simons

Montreal-based fashion and furniture department store that caters to so many different ages and styles. From outerwear, to underwear, jeans and workwear, they have so many different clothes for your vibe. Their clothes have that fun Montreal-edge and they’re very unique and fun compared to other clothing stores in Canada. If you want to be original and not look like everyone else, they have great pieces.

tre stelle cheese

We Canadians love our cheese. Tre Stelle’s fresh cheeses like ricotta and bocconcini are delicious, and they’re perfect for spring and summer recipes like Caprese salad and tiramisu.

frank and oak

Frank and Oak’s outerwear is to die for! Super practical and fashionable so it’s perfect for the Canadian seasons. They usually have some sales a few times a year too!

dollarama

You might not think to look, but Dollarama actually has some pretty fair prices for packaged grocery items like cookies and crackers.

mary brown’s Chicken

Instead of fried chicken fast food restaurants like Popeyes and KFC, try our Canadian version! They were founded in 1969 in Newfoundland, and there are always deals happening!

cineplex

If you’re looking for something to do during the rainy spring season, seeing a movie is always a fun time! Sometimes Cineplex even has promotions with snacks like free popcorn refills.

covered bridge

This New Brunswick brand’s potato chips are to die for. Their storm chips go hard! They have summer and winter-themed storm chips, with 4 chip flavours (4 for summer, 4 for winter) in each bag!

purdy’s chocolatier

This Vancouver-based chocolate company has a delicious variety of sweet treats. There’s even a location right in the Rideau Centre food court, complete with chocolates, caramels, popcorn, and ice cream of all flavours. Purdy’s treats would be great gifts for Easter!.

sport chek

This sportswear hub has great athletic brands such as Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Converse, and more. They also have lifestyle brands such as Ugg, Sorel, Merrell, and Columbia. And, Sport Chek frequently has promotions and sales to save even more!

Soft moc shoes

A quintessential Canadian brand hiding somewhere in malls, Soft Moc has reasonably priced shoes, boots, and sandals. They have been around since 1990!

the keg

The Keg Steakhouse + Bar has great value for money! You can have your favourite meat dishes, and their vegan and vegetarian options are approved by my vegan and vegetarian friends!

Nature’s Path

Most people might not know this health food brand is Canadian, but let yourself be pleasantly surprised! They have yummy cereals, granola bars, and have great organic options.

In the wake of the ongoing tariff war, supporting Canadian businesses has never been more important. By choosing to shop locally and invest in homegrown enterprises, we not only boost our economy but also foster a sense of community and resilience. Let’s be stronger together and make a difference by supporting these remarkable Canadian businesses!
