6 Gorgeous Nail Colours for Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Ottawa chapter.

The struggle doesn’t have to be real ladies! What colour are your nails this season?

1. Rose-gold

Do I really need to explain why this beauteous shade made the cut? Rose-gold shades from Nars (Pastorale, $27.93) and OPI (Worth a Pretty Penne, $9.95) transition effortlessly between attending lectures, working at the office, and hitting the gym. The trick is to avoid getting distracted by the pretty copper-gold shimmers (like yours truly did, typing up this article)

2. Metallic Blue

Metallic blues were a huge hit from NYFW and for good reasons too: the bold shade dazzles against everything. Before applying such a saturated colour though (like Essie’s Aruba Blue, $7.95), make sure to apply a base coat first to avoid staining.

3. Burnt Orange

I love me a bombastic burnt orange — This Sonia Kashuk shade (Dyno-Mite, $5) is explosively eye-catching (okay, I’ll can it with the lame puns). Bonus: it matches the Fall Starbucks cups harmoniously.

4. Dark Green

Green has never really caught my attention, but I’ve falling head over heels for a dark green. The almost-black shades from Essie (Stylenomics, $7.95) and Chanel (Vert Obscur, $37.71) brings to mind images of luxurious velvet and dark fairytales. If these shades are too close to black for you, just make sure the shade is not lighter than Essie’s Hunter ($7.95).

5. Sophisticated Wine

Can wine anything ever go wrong? A dark vino, from Essie (In the Lobby, $7.95) and JINsoon (Audacity, $22), is universally flattering and perfect for fall. The key and ultimate challenge however, is keeping the sophistication alive and the nails un-chipped.

6. A Splash of Gold

If you love Summer more than anything, this tip is for you. To slowly transition your nails into Fall mode, incorporate a bit of your favourite gold polish into your design. A thin strip down the middle, some dots, or perhaps some gold tips will definitely add a touch of warmth to a Summery pink or coral.
