The fall brings great photos, joy and food; however in the mist of our twentieth piece of pie, we sometimes forget to get our heart pumping and commit to an active lifestyle. Exercise does not have to be tedious and unwanted, there are many ways to exercise without it feeling like a workout, but burning like one. In this article, I will disclose five activities to do during the fall. So here are five fun healthy activities to do in the fall!

1. Hiking & Nature Walks

This activity is simple but effective. The beautiful scenery that fall brings creates perfect places to go for walks or jogs. Bring a friend and enjoy the fresh cool breeze. Gatineau Park is the perfect place to connect with nature, burn some calories, and take plenty of pictures!

2. Leaf Party

Gather your friends and family and take advantage of the play tools that Mother Nature has provided you with! Rake up some leaves and enjoy jumping in. Raking itself is a very good arm workout, although it is seen as just another chore to get done, spice things up and have fun doing the most dreaded thing of fall.

3. Horror Movie Workout session

Feeling the Halloween vibe? Use this as motivation to do a workout! Try doing your regular workout session while watching a horror movie. The adrenaline may just make your heart pump more! You can make it a competition with your friend, whoever can complete the movie while completing their workout wins!

4. Canoeing at Dow’s Lake

You’ve been canoeing in the summer, but have you tried it in the fall? In Ottawa, you can rent out a canoe for a fairly cheap price and enjoy the scenery while working out your arms. Dow’s Lake is the perfect place in Ottawa to relax and people watch. When you rent a boat or use your own, you can have the experiences of nature and urban life at the same time.

5. Dance Party

Jam out to your favourite Halloween tunes, dancing is a perfect cardio exercise without the feeling of a cardio exercise. Try out Halloween concerts or invite friends over for a cheaper method.

Well there you have it folks, just some of the ways to get active during the fall. The list doesn’t just end here though, be creative and come up with more or twist these up! Have a great Fall!
