Now, collegiettes, periods are a thing that most of us just gotta deal with every month or so. And it kind of – majorly – sucks, especially figuring out how to dress cute like we do every other week! Here’s a few tips to stop your period from cramping your style.

1. Long, cozy cardigans
We all know that covering the derriere is rule number one when getting dressed during Shark Week. It’s not only for the just-in-case, but because it’s also nice to be covered up, you know? Longline cardigans are just the thing – especially now that the weather’s getting colder! Snuggle up in something super soft and cozy, and all your troubles will melt away.

2. Dresses and leggings
Leggings are the most comfortable pants on Earth, so why should we have to give them up when Aunt Flow comes to visit? Answer: we don’t! Just throw on a cute flowy dress over top of your leggings to keep rule number one checked off and you’re good to go. Another layer never hurt anyone, after all!

3. Joggers and boyfriend jeans
Everyone knows that any kind of tight pants are a major no-no on your period – remember rule number one? But not all of us enjoy the delights of layering, which can get very bulky very fast, so this tip is for you! Joggers and boyfriend jeans are a fashionista’s best friend when it comes to period dressing, since they’re loose around the butt and can be dressed up or down.

4. Clever layering tricks.
I’m sure we’ve all had that “Oh. My. God. No.” moment – you know the one I’m talking about, when you stand up and… yeah. Tying a shirt around your waist is a great way to deal with that horrible moment, but it doesn’t only have to be a clever fix! Tie a plaid button down around your waist for a cute borrowed from the lumberjacks sort of look and an extra layer of security.

Let us know what your best tricks are for dressing cute during that time of the month! Let us know – we’ll all be dealing with this issue for a while yet!
