As Alix Earle made it to the finals of Dancing with the Stars this Tuesday, it’s clear she is this season’s It Girl. Like most everything in her life, she has been able to capture the fans attention and impress the judges each and every week.

Since her rise to fame on Tik Tok, Alix Earle has continued to surprise and amaze her followers with her hard work, determination, and flawless execution of everything she does. From going to UMiami; balancing her hard classes, a social life, and the start of her influencing career, Earl has always been showing how hard working she is. Dancing with the Stars is nothing different.

Going into the show a lot of people wanted her to fail. They saw her as a party girl that wouldn’t put in the time and effort to be successful on the show. However, as the season has gone on she has proved all those people wrong. Her behind-the-scenes vlogs of her and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy really show how much work it takes to be a part of this show. She is allowing herself to feel every emotion—frustration, happiness, sadness, and tiredness—throughout the process, and she is showing all of those emotions to her fans.

With her platform, she has been able to show her fans and lifelong viewers of the show a whole new perspective. Normally, we see the short 30-second package of their rehearsals and then the dances, and that’s pretty much it. Now, with Earle’s following and platform, she has been able to show so many behind the scenes, posting vlogs each week of her learning her dances and going in for fittings, etc… It has allowed viewers to see past her ‘party girl’ reputation and see how much she loves dancing and how much she has worked to get to where she is now.

Not only is she giving everyone a “backstage pass” to her weeks in rehearsal, but she is also performing super well. Each week the judges and fans are thoroughly impressed with her dances and the energy she brings. She genuinely seems happy to be there—which is what the show is about. She started as someone with no ballroom dance experience and has worked her way to the finals of the show, with a real shot at winning the Mirrorball Trophy. Her authenticity and dedication to showing up every single week have brought her the top half of the leader board every week, and at the top of almost every viewer’s list of people they want to win the Mirrorball.
