The holiday season is upon us, with Thanksgiving just next week! As the holiday season is a time for celebration, joy, and connecting with family and friends, here are a few ideas to get into the holiday spirit and make the most of the season.Â
- Make your holiday music playlist: There are so many classic holiday songs to listen to, so why not add them all to a playlist to get into the spirit? Some of my personal picks include “Last Christmas” by Wham, “Underneath the Tree” by Kelly Clarkson, “Jingle Bell Rock” by Bobby Helms, and “Snowman” by Sia. Tisten to your playlist while walking to class, exercising, or even studying.Â
- Bake Seasonal Treats: If you’re like me, baking is a way to relieve stress and a fun activity to engage in with family and friends. Some of my go-to baking recipes are gingerbread cookies, cinnamon rolls, and pumpkin pie. If you don’t have much experience in the kitchen, find a recipe online or use a cooking book to follow!Â
- Watch holiday movies: Holiday movies is another way to get into the holiday spirit. Funny rom-coms and classic Christmas movies are fun for everyone. Consider watching The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, Elf, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Frosty the Snowman, and Holidate.Â
- Decorate your space: Transform your living space with holiday decorations to get into the holiday spirit! You can decorate by putting up string or fairy lights, setting up a Christmas tree, hanging a festive wreath, or lighting some holiday candles.Â
- Indulge in winter activities: Take advantage of the colder weather and take part in fun winter activities outside! Whether you go to a skating rink, build a snowman, or look at exterior holiday house decorations, outdoor activities are a fun way to get excited about the season.Â
With the winter season approaching, it’s a special time of the year to connect with family and friends while engaging in traditions and immersing ourselves in the festive spirit. Some of my favorite ways to get into the winter spirit are listening to holiday music with a new playlist, baking seasonal treats with family and friends, binge-watching holiday movies, decorating my living space with festive decorations, or even engaging in outdoor winter activities. There’s no better time to embrace the cold weather!
