I never seem to have an issue when it comes to finding an ideal location for spring break because there are more than enough tropical locations with beautiful resorts, but when it comes to finding the right outfits and accessories to bring, I start to have trouble. Having too much clothing on vacation doesn’t seem like it would be an issue, but now that many airlines charge you to check your bag, packing efficiently can now save you a few bucks. For me, efficient packing involves bringing versatile pieces that I can make into different outfit combinations. This year, I decided to start thinking ahead and I came up with a list of five must-have items that will definitely apply to wherever you may be headed this break (as long as it’s warm!).

Mix and Match Bathing Suits:
I think most people would agree that one of the best parts about spring break shopping is bikini shopping. It is all about finding the latest styles in swimsuits to show off the body you’ve been working so hard to get. Instead of bringing many different swimsuits, buy three different mix and match bathing suits. This way, you can make at least six different suits, but only take up the space of three. I recommend looking at Victoria’s Secret because of the large selection of different styles, patterns, and colors. Purchasing the suits online will give you more choices than in the store.

A Sexy Cover-Up: When you are lounging at the pool, clothes are probably the last thing on your mind, but who knows who you might run into going to and from your room and the pool. Instead of the standard shorts and a t-shirt, this break try something a little more feminine like a cover-up. No one will judge you if you wear the same cover-up a few days in a row and this also will leave lots of room in your suitcase for outfits for your nighttime wardrobe.

The Classic Wedged Heel: Never is there a more appropriate time to rock a killer pair of wedges than in the warm vacation heat. Wedges are a great alternative to stiletto pumps because they are the perfect shoe option for whatever type of nightlife you have planned, but also a nice option for a dressy casual daytime outfit. I particularly love all types of Via Spiga heels because they provide trendy styles but are also extremely comfortable.

A Jumbo Beach Bag: A large beach bag provides you with a great way to have everything you need at the pool while also working simultaneously as a carry-on bag. There is enough room to put all the extra items that didn’t fit in your suitcase as well as your laptop and/or magazines. Michael Kors makes a bag called the ‘Santorini’ Straw Basket Tote, which is a classic straw beach bag.

Aviators: For any vacation, the right pair of sunglasses is an essential. I personally prefer to trade in the oversized shades when I go away for break for a simple pair of aviators because I like the laid-back look of them. Urban Outfitters has a large selection of aviators to choose from, whether you want to splurge and buy a pair of Ray-Bans, or if you want to just get a good deal on a pair to wear for the week.
