The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Summer Style

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mich chapter.

Let’s face it. Getting ready in the morning when it’s hot, humid, and sticky outside is probably the worst thing you’ve experienced since you got your grade back on your chemistry final. Luckily, there are some tricks even the laziest of all girls can do to make getting ready in the summer at least bearable. Here’s five quick pieces every girl should have in their closet in order to survive the dreaded months of summer:

1. T-Shirt Dresses

These are probably the easiest way to look put together on a hot summer day. Throw one on over a bathing suit or wear it to a graduation party with wedges. Either way, it takes about two minutes to get ready and you’ll look like you really put yourself together.

2. High-Waisted Shorts

An old trend, but a great one! High-waisted shorts are perfect with just about any top. The high waist adds a polished look to any outfit and hits everyone in the smallest area of the waist.

3. A Nice Pair of Sunglasses

Sure, this isn’t exactly an outfit, but the perfect pair of sunglasses really adds a cool, summer vibe. Wearing them makes any outfit look put together!

4. Flannel

Flannels are literally a godsend. Wear them with shorts, that t-shirt dress you bought, leggings, or jeans. They go with everything and having a versatile top is key to the perfect summer wardrobe.

5. Rompers

Best thing about a romper? You don’t have to spend 20 minutes trying to match a top and shorts. It’s done for you, and summer rompers have the cutest designs.
