When you open pinterest,  you are asked if you would like to create different boards. These boards could be anything; you can pin things to your boards. When I create my pinterest boards, each board is a part of my life that is happening or that I want to happen. Each pin is a step I take along the way or the little goals that help you get to the big one. Close your eyes and for a minute, think about “nothingness.” Ask yourself where you are now? Are you happy with where you are now? Is there something you want to change? Now, envision after thinking about those questions where you see yourself in ten years. Where are you on earth? What does your hair look like? How are your relationships that you have now, have they outgrow their roots or grown side by side with you into the adult tree you are now? Do you have a dog, what breed? Who or what are you waking up to? Did you quit drinking coffee and scrolling on your phone? Are you now meditating when you wake up and enjoying a matcha outside on the porch, not alone, but with your thoughts? What colors represent your life now to where you want it to be? These questions could go on and on, but while you’re thinking of and answering questions, what is the idea lingering in the back of your head?

The dominating factor of our lives is the thoughts we have. Whether they are positive or negative, you have everything you want to change the process and end goal of them. You may have heard the term “walking pinterest board.” While you may not like where you are now it is important to recognize the positive aspects in our life and that you could be someone’s “walking pinterest board.” Everyone tries to hide the messiness in life, and display the cleanliness but in reality to flush out the messiness you have to show it in some ways. As humans we are so adapted to focusing on the negatives because of what society conforms us to focus on. Like having glass skin, having the ideal body, going out but  not too much. Society wants you to be a perfect pinterest board but that is just not realistic.

All dreams and manifestations start somewhere. Mine was literally my pinterest mood and manifest board. I imagine a light yellow house on the east or west coast with big pink, baby blue, violet, and white hydrangeas outside my front door, with two golden retrievers running around outside, but I have also dreamed of city life in my 20s and my only worry being the next coffee store I’m going to try in Boston. I have learned to imagine my dreams, but to not make those standards my dreams but my hopes. As a 19– almost 20– year old it is unrealistic to just say I want those dreams to happen, though this is what I used to do. I have learned that to truly chase and manifest your dream life you have to be your own role model. Each second, minute, hour, day, month, and year we must push ourselves to be a better version of the person we were yesterday, but we also must recognize the positive attributes we have conquered and want to bring with us into our dream life.

I recently was told I always look put together and look like a walking pinterest board. I did not know how to take this. I have my problems, everyone has their problems, but how do you keep being real with yourself and the world? Do you truly fake it till you make it, because occasionally I feel like it works. An example I find similar to this is that I have always wanted to be a matcha drinker, I know it has many more benefits than coffee. Although when I first tried it, it was not for me, even though it was better for me. Today, I enjoyed an iced strawberry almond milk matcha. Similar to life and the challenges we do not want to face while working to our goals, sometimes you truly end up loving those challenges. The challenge becomes the passion not the hardship.

As you scroll on pinterest you realize this stuff to achieve the look you want for your ideal pinterest board is expensive in many ways. These people and things you see on pinterest are rich with life not just money. Eventually as you keep manifesting and putting positive energy and time into this “pinterest board” you find that your life is almost equivalent.
