Ann Arbor Welcomes New Eats

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mich chapter.

This year, Ann Arbor has welcomed a multitude of new restaurant options to the area. While they are replacing some beloved classics (RIP Saigon Garden), these three new spots are definitely worth checking out.

(eve is located on S Thayer Street for breakfast, dinner, and Sunday brunch)

1. Piada

A twist on your typical Italian food joint, Piada boasts a menu that is catered to serving on-the-go needs with a “Street Food” vibe. Offering design-your-own wraps, pastas, and salads, Piada fills your Italian food craving without breaking your bank, or weighing you down. The Tuscan Piada wrap is a customer favorite, grilled expertly and easy enough to carry into your lecture hall if you don’t have time for a sit-down meal.

2. One Bowl

A new restaurant of Asian cuisine situated right across the street from Landmark Apartments, One Bowl works off the concept of mixing Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Korean food all into “One Bowl.” You won’t have to wait long or pay high prices for this food, and yet it is a perfect alternative to have when you are craving noodles in soy sauce but the No Thai line is just too long.

3. eve

Situated at the Bell Tower Hotel on South Thayer Street, Eve re-opened this year after closing its doors in 2012, when the restaurant owner wanted to focus his energy on his second restaurant, Frita Batidos. This restaurant specializes in dishes that center on fresh seasonal ingredients provided from local farmers. This one might be a place to save for when your parents are in town, but worth checking out nonetheless.
