5 Tips for Traveling in Style

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mich chapter.

Spring break is all about the destination adventure; but whether you’re going to Cabo or Florida, you need to, like, get there. Being on a plane, train, or in a car for hours on end can be excruciating if you’re uncomfortable, so resorting to wearing sweatpants and a sweatshirt is often the case. But who says you have to sacrifice fashion for comfort? Here are just a few items you can pack to keep you cozy while still looking amazing.

1. Jogger pants

A good pair of joggers can really upgrade your look, especially if you opt for a colored pair with a silky fabric. It basically feels like you’re wearing pajamas, except you look like a professional.

2. Oversized sweater and a scarf

This is a great combination if you worry about being cold while traveling. An oversized sweater can be dressed up if you pair it with a cute scarf, leggings, and some ankle boots. Maybe don’t wear this on your way to Mexico though.

3. Flannel

Pair a flannel with some jeans and riding boots and you have an adorably comfy get-up. It will keep you warm and cozy with very minimal effort. If you get too hot, just tie the flannel around your waist and you’ll still look cute.

4. The basic tee

Honestly, this is one of the most underrated items in a girl’s closet. A basic black v-neck can be paired with jeans and a long necklace to give it some style while still being really casual and comfortable. You could even add a leather jacket to give your look a little edge, or throw on a comfy cardigan to feel extra snuggly.

5. Ankle Boots

Ankle boots are amazingly confortable and also add a little bit of extra flair to any look. With these boots, you can look like you have your life together without sacrificing comfort.

Try out any of these looks to start your amazing spring break in style. Safe travels, everyone!
