The holiday season is here and what better than a cozy movie night to get into the festive spirit. Below is a list of all of my favorite Christmas movies that are a must-watch every year (in no particular order).Â
Buddy, a human who was accidentally taken to the North Pole as a baby, is raised as an elf. He travels to New York City to find his biological father, a businessman in dire need of some of Buddy’s Christmas cheer.Â
Home Alone, a classic Christmas movie about 8-year-old Kevin McCallister who is accidentally left behind by his family for Christmas vacation. Initially excited that he gets to spend some time without the nagging of his family, Kevin is soon faced with the responsibility of protecting his home from two burglars using elaborate booby traps.Â
The story revolves around The Grinch, a green being who lives on the outskirts of Whoville and despises Christmas so much that he plans to ruin it for all the citizens of the town. His plans take a turn when he runs into Cindy Lou Who, a young girl and her generous holiday spirit.Â
This classic movie compiles three heartwarming stories that revolve around how different characters learn the true meaning of Christmas.Â
While it has many adaptations, A Christmas Carol remains one of the best Christmas stories. It follows Ebenezer Scrooge, a stingy old man who is visited by three Christmas ghosts, past, present, and future, who show him the error of his ways. Scrooge wakes up the next morning a changed man.Â
This rom-com follows eight interconnected couples as they navigate their love lives in the weeks leading up to Christmas. From the newly elected British prime minister falling for a junior staffer, to a newly widowed stepfather who helps his stepson navigate his first love, the movie explores the different kinds of love and their effect on people.Â
After Santa Claus accidentally falls off of Scott’s roof on Christmas Eve, Scott is magically recruited to take his place. While he struggles to accept it at first, over the next few months, he starts to come to terms with his new life.
