To the disdain of many (and unfortunately myself, included), looking for unique costumes has led to the same ten slides on Instagram or TikTok. As much as a girl can appreciate iconic matching costumes, seeing the same “unique” costumes every year has revealed to many that a lot of the costumes coveted on social media aren’t very … unique.

Cute? Yes! Hot? Absolutely! But entirely new …? Not quite.

So, is it only the first week of October? Yes! But it’s never too early to start planning for Halloweekend! In the mood to partake in costumes only you and your friends will be wearing? Below are a multitude of fun, new costumes to wear for this year’s Halloween with your duos!

Pete the Cat and Pigeon

Who doesn’t remember borrowing these beloved childhood books from their school library? Elevate or keep it simple with costumes inspired by the charming characters of Pete the Cat from the Pete the Cat books and Pigeon from the Pigeon Series!

An Astronaut and the Moon

A cute, duo costume for anyone interested in astronomy beyond just matching sun and moon! It is unique and completely original, and beyond endearing once others realize how the costumes match. In costumes that can be elevated or simplified with a general silver-y vibe, walk hand in hand in this cute, space-y duo costume!

Starfire and Blackfire from Teen Titans

While Starfire may be an iconic superhero of the “Teen Titans” franchise, many forget her darker yet just as hot older sister, Blackfire. On a play on light and dark, cute and hot, pink and purple, match with your best friend as these superhero/antihero sisters.

Cassie and Maddy from Euphoria

Please don’t tell me you already forgot about “Euphoria” Sundays. Dazzle up with their iconic make-up looks and dress up as these not-so-best best friends. The show provides plenty of complementary outfits for you and your girl to dress up as! Don’t miss out on this duo costume!

Sue and Carrie from Carrie (1976)

In the spirit of Halloween, dress up as the two girls from one of the most renown female-based Halloween movies! In this devious duo, embody that late ‘70s horror vibe!

Adelaide and Red from Us

In the spirit of horror and all that is uncanny, pay homage to Lupita Nyong’o’s amazing dual performance in the movie Us and dress up as the main character and her Tethered counterpart. The contrast of disheveled white and sleek red are sure to catch the attention of any loyal Jordan Peele watchers (or horror fanatics).

Black Swan and White Swan from Black Swan

Another perfect contrasting costume that is sure to turn heads! This duo costume encapsulates the perfection of a softer, heavenly look when paired with a darker, devilishly tempting one. Dazzle up with feathers, dramatic makeup, and the inverted ballerina outfits to claim the night with iconic looks from the movie, Black Swan

Westley and Inigo from The Princess Bride

A little obscure to some but memorable to die-hard romance movie fans. Feminize the outfits of these charming rivals (or don’t!) and you’ve got unique matching costumes of a hot pair of rivals.

Lady Gaga and Beyonce from the “Telephone” Music Video

The “Telephone” Music Video is a perfect example of a music video almost everyone at some point has watched. With its scandalous storyline, extravagant costumes, and amazing music, it’s ear and eye candy! Unafraid of a little gaudiness? Give the video another watch and marvel at the costume design for Lady Gaga and Beyonce — the directors provided a fair share of matching costumes for you and your friend to match in!

Jennie and Doechii from the “ExtraL” Music Video

Another iconic music video despite being new to the YouTube scene. Care for an elevated yet slightly scandalous look? Then, give Doechii and Jennie’s matching white suits and red undergarments a try and turn heads and share your hot music taste!

Honey Lemon and Go-Go from Big Hero Six

A slightly lesser known pair of heroes but charming in their own signature way! Dress casually in their day to day outfits or stylize your own costume based on their Hero looks. Another cute duo costume that brings together a bright and colorful persona with a sleek, darker image, perfect for opposites-attract girlies.

Bambi and Thumper from Bambi

In a cute, potentially coquette, matching costume, take a look back at this Disney classic from the Disney Animation Golden Age. Mix the soft colors, the charming animal ears and the potentially fluffy articles of clothing and make a sweet and coquette impact on Halloween Night.

The Hungry Caterpillar and The Rainbow Fish

Another childhood throwback! The fun aspect of these two beloved characters is that whatever you choose their costume to be is entirely up to you- they are both colorful, youthful and cute characters, whose costume design is entirely up to your discretion!

Queen of Hearts and White Queen from Alice in Wonderland (2010)

Can’t decide who should be Alice and who should be White Rabbit? Marvel upon the red and white queens of Alice in Wonderland! Hot and fiery and red or serene and cool and white? Take over the night with your own crowns and steal the attention of the people with your own twist on these royal sisters!
