With the beginning of the holiday season just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to put on your favorite festive “Charlie Brown” holiday specials. Charlie Brown and the Peanuts are the beloved characters created by Charles Schulz, and these timeless, animated cartoons follow Charlie Brown and his friends through all of their holiday celebrations. With classic characters like Snoopy and the nostalgic soundtracks provided by Vince Guaraldi, these half-hour specials are perfect for getting into the holiday spirit!

It’s The great pumpkin, charlie brown

First in the holiday lineup is Halloween. With pumpkins, costumes, and candy, there is so much to love. “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” is the first chronologically of the four specials, kicking off the fall season. The plot line of this story follows Linus as he waits for the arrival of the Great Pumpkin on Halloween night, Charlie Brown attends a Halloween party, and all of the children go trick-or-treating. Of course, you can’t forget Snoopy’s usual side quest. Charlie Brown’s dog pilots his doghouse in pursuit of the Red Baron, stepping into his role as a World War I flying ace!

Next in the order is “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.” Thanksgiving is a time to appreciate your family and friends and practice gratitude for the blessings in your life. Charlie Brown and his friends embrace this by joining together for a meal. While the meal might not be traditional or classic, and the only characters who get to enjoy turkey are the animals, the Peanuts learn a timeless lesson about friendship and the true meaning behind Thanksgiving.

A Charlie brown christmas

As we move into winter, Christmas movies are everywhere. There are so many great, old, and classic favorites. There are also so many new, fun, and entertaining films that come out every season. “A Charlie Brown Christmas” is a short that can be watched again and again and rotated in with the new and the old. At the start of the story, Charlie Brown is discouraged by the lack of Christmas spirit he sees in the Peanuts. He decides to become the director of the school play, buys a Christmas tree, and through friendship and cooperation gets to enjoy the season as he had hoped.

Be my valentine, charlie brown

As Winter comes to an end, so do the Peanuts holiday specials. They end on a good note, though, with “Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown.” Unsurprisingly, Charlie Brown is disappointed by the number of Valentine’s letters his mailbox receives. The story follows the Peanuts as they navigate their crushes, school dances, hearts, flowers, and chocolates. Humorous and genuine, this last special is too sweet not to watch.

Whether you’re a longtime Peanuts fan, just a Snoopy lover, or simply looking for something for a little entertainment, these Charlie Brown holiday specials are a great choice. They are lighthearted, funny, appropriate for the whole family, and just the right length to watch. Give them a try this season and get in the spirit!
