*SPOILERS WARNING*

After waiting 10 long years, the cast of one of the most beloved franchises finally got back together to have a reunion. I have zero shame in being a Harry Potter superfan. I say it proudly because it truly is one of my favorite things in the world. I am a Hufflepuff btw. The reunion was just about everything an HP fan could have asked for. It featured chats with the cast, revealed secrets, and pulled at every single string in your heart. If you haven’t gotten a chance to watch it on HBO MAX yet, don’t read any further unless you want spoilers! Here are my favorite moments and quotes of the Harry Potter Reunion ranked.

DANIEL RADCLIFFE’S LOVE LETTER TO HELENA BONHAM CARTER

HBC, aka Bellatrix Lestrange, pulled up an old autograph Daniel wrote to her when they finished filming. In it, he thanked her for being such a great costar and even confessed his love wishing he had only been born 10 years earlier so he could have had a chance. Adorable.

DANIEL RADCLIFFE’S FRIENDSHIP WITH GARRY OLDMAN

Dan recounts how enthralled he was when Gary Oldman, aka Sirius Black, joined the franchise and how much he looked up to him as an actor. It was so sweet to learn that their chemistry in the film reflected real life so much, as they had such a unique and special bond.

EMMA AND TOM’S ROMANCE

Emma’s puppy love for Tom, aka Draco Malfoy, was adorable and relatable. Like most fans, I knew that Emma had a huge crush on Tom during filming, but to hear the two of them speak on it and confirm that even though nothing romantic has ever happened between them that they love each other very much was so sweet. The corresponding clips of them as children playing together made it even better. I especially loved when Tom off-camera called Viktor Krum a “lucky man” for getting to dance with Emma.

“THERE ARE PEOPLE IN THESE FILMS WHO ARE FOUNDATIONAL TO WHO I AM.” – DAN

As Dan chokes back tears near the end of the reunion, he thanks the cast and crew for being such an important part of his life. It was impossible not to cry as he cried. You could see just how much he truly loves HP and everyone involved, and how much it shaped him into the person he is today.

“ALWAYS”

The most iconic line of the entire series from Snape. Not much needs to be said about this. A perfect way to end the reunion. If you know, you know.

“WE’RE FAMILY, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.” – RUPERT AND EMMA

Emma and Rupert’s final closing thoughts where they expressed how much love they had for each other as they sobbed was honestly everything an HP fan could have asked for in a reunion.

IN LOVING MEMORY TRIBUTE

It would be impossible and wrong to have a reunion without acknowledging the incredible actors that have unfortunately passed away since filming. I am so happy that they took the time to include special segments honoring them and their HP legacy.

“I’LL NOT BE HERE SADLY, BUT HAGRID WILL.” – ROBBIE COLTRANE

Hagrid simply is childhood comfort. No HP fan looks at Hagrid and does not immediately feel safe and loved, just like the golden trio. The concept of time and time passing is a scary thing. What HP is to so many people is comfort. While I am excited to get older, I am also terrified. I’m terrified of the future and the people I care about getting older because of all the implications that can bring, but knowing that HP will always be there makes it easier and I know that I am not alone in that.

You would be lying if you said you made it through the entire reunion without crying. I hope that the HP reunion was everything you could have hoped for as it was for me.

Mischief managed.
