This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mass Amherst chapter.

Are you looking for a fun and exciting weekend getaway? The city that never sleeps has something for everyone, from delicious food to world-famous attractions. Here’s a weekend itinerary that will help you make the most of your trip to New York City.

Day 1:

9:00 a.m.

Start your day with a delicious breakfast at Liberty Bagels. Their wide range of hand-rolled bagels is a New York staple, and the atmosphere is fantastic. You can’t make a NY trip without a classic NY bagel!

11:00 a.m.

Visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art a.k.a. The Met! It’s one of the world’s largest and most comprehensive art museums. Some of the most famous works in The Met’s collection include Vincent van Gogh’s “Starry Night” and Vermeer’s “Young Woman with a Water Pitcher.” The Met is a must-visit for anyone interested in art and culture!

1:00 p.m.

Grab a slice of New York’s famous 99-cent pizza! The pizza is served fresh out of the oven, hot, and ready to eat. The crust is crispy and thin, with just the right amount of sauce and cheese.

3:00 p.m.

Take a stroll through Central Park and enjoy the scenic views. You can also rent a bike or a boat and explore the park in a more adventurous way! In addition to its natural beauty, it’s also home to famous landmarks, including the Central Park Zoo, Bethesda Fountain, and the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir.

6:00 p.m.

Watch a Broadway show! I saw Aladdin on Broadway and it was a magical theater experience featuring stunning costumes, elaborate sets, and breathtaking choreography bringing the colorful world of Agrabah to life on stage. I would highly recommend booking your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.

Start your day at the iconic skyscraper, the Empire State Building. You can enjoy breathtaking views from the observation deck offering 360-views of the city! There is also a newly renovated 80th-floor exhibit that tells the story of the building’s construction and history.

11:00 a.m.

Grab brunch at Beyond Sushi, a popular vegan sushi restaurant. The restaurant’s innovative menu features unique and flavorful sushi rolls made entirely from plant-based ingredients. Their prices are reasonable, making it an affordable option for a tasty and healthy meal in the city.
