Thrift shopping is one of my favorite things to do! You get to look through piles of clothing and accessories that have a story and history. You are also guaranteed to leave the store with a unique but also cheap purchase.

Sifting through everything at a thrift store can seem overwhelming and beyond stressful! That’s why I have staple items that I look for before I start on my thrifting adventure. Here are 5 staple pieces that you can look for!

1) Oversized Sweater: Embrace the cold winter months with a one-of-a-kind thrifted sweater.

2) Jeans: Create your own DIY project and cut a pair of old jeans into a cute pair of cutoff jean shorts. Pair them with tights to get a more edgy look for Fall.

3) Black leather bag: I love buying vintage bags. You can really get some great deals on high-end named bags.

4) Scarves: Scarves are so fun to add to a plain, solid outfit. Look for a cool, vintage-like pattern.

5) Jewelry: Whether you are into necklaces, earrings, or a chuncky cuff, thrift stores are the best places to look for jewelry. While everyone is wearing the same popular ring, you will have a stand out piece that will catch everyone’s eye.

My favorite Thrift store is definitely Buffalo Exchange – I never leave empty handed!

Happy thrifting, Collegiettes!
