Saturday Night Live (or as everyone says, SNL) has been cracking jokes for a 100 years now. With a history of a star studded cast, including Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Jimmy Fallon, and Andy Samberg, making names for themselves through skits, Saturday Night Live has become a part of lives and we’ve all laughed out loud at our TV screens at each character’s ridiculousness.
1. Weekend Update Guests
SNL Weekend Update has made educating the viewer more bearable by mocking real headline broadcasted through media and through their guests who are characters you can relate to on a crazy personal level. We’ve all met someone at a party that sounds just as ignorant as “That Drunk Girl You Wish You Hadn’t Started a Conversation With At a Party.”
And at every family party there is that family member whose alcohol has made them rant about how much they hate the ‘new generation’ and start to sound like “The Drunk Uncle”:
2. Jimmy Fallon
Jimmy starred on the Weekend Update but also has had so many hilarious impersonations like Justin Bieber (when he was still relevant) and recently Harry Styles. Thankfully Jimmy still makes us laugh with his Late Night Show.
3. Politicians
Jason Sudeikis’ impression of Mitt Romney makes you see how Mitt presents himself as a spoiled guy who doesn’t understand the common man. It highlights how Mitt is constantly changing his image to please and be more relatable to the public but just ends up coming off stiff and fake.
4. Stefon
This regular guest on the Weekend update is labeled a city correspondent but really is only helpful if you want a good laugh at a fake club/bar and trend that’s so ridiculous you can’t help but smirk at.
5. ‘The Californians’
These far-fetched accents are so ridiculous that even the SNL cast can’t help but smirk doing it. This exaggeration, although highly inaccurate, is extremely entertaining.
