Benson Boone is an American singer-songwriter who came to fame on TikTok and American Idol. In 2021, Boone released his single Ghost Town. I can vividly remember when I was around 13, choreographing silly dances to that song with my little cousins, something we always enjoyed doing at our sleepovers. However, during this time, I wasn’t too focused on listening to the rest of Benson’s discography, which eventually made me forget him.
As Boone started getting more popular and as I grew older, his album Fireworks & Rollerblades was released in 2024, with the song Beautiful Things blowing up online. The song was on the radio for what felt like hours at a time! My friends were really obsessed with him and this music, talking about him constantly during school. I was not listening to the same type of music as I was when I was 13, Boone, therefore getting the short end of the stick. I hated his new song, I heard it everywhere and it quickly got overplayed, so I never heard the rest of his album because of how negatively I felt over his newest trending song. I told a lot of people that I in fact did not like Benson Boone and hated his songs. That was until I heard Slow It Down.
Slow It Down was also on the album, though I had never heard it until it started playing in a friend’s car. From that day forward, I was listening to replay, the song became my favorite in the blink of an eye. I was listening to Benson Boone on repeat, my Spotify Wrapped showed that I once listened to it 42 times in one day. Somehow, I started to love his music rather quickly, though there wasn’t much at the time, then American Heart was released.
Benson released this album in 2025, and I was so in love with it. I tried my absolute hardest to go to his tour in Boston from how amazing it was, I was desperate and absolutely in love with his music. Unfortunately for me, my Benson Boone loving heart didn’t get to go, since I failed to purchase tickets during the presale and could only find tickets for upwards of $200. It was okay though; I had a pretty good year of concerts lined up for me and I was just grateful to listen to his music. Somedays, I was close to buying the American Heart CD to add to my collection, mostly to make up for not seeing him live but. Eventually I started listening to more of the newer releases of my favorite artists because I truly listened to every song on American Heart more times than I can count. Until, his most recent tour announcement.
I bought tickets so fast for my two friends and I. This time around, I was on the presale and bought my tickets for only 55 dollars! I have never been happier, and I am so excited for my summer! Now, after a few months, I am back to listening to American Heart on repeat. I think it gets better and better every time. Oh, and for the record, I like Beautiful Things now!
Are you going to see Benson Boone this summer?
