My Top 5 Predictions for Season 28 of Dancing With the Stars

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mass Amherst chapter.

Winner: Hannah Brown and Alan

The bachelorette star has previous ballet experience, and her personality shines through her dancing. Her scores have been some of the highest, and with a fan base as big as hers, she’s sure to get a lot of votes. Her Week 2 Viennese Waltz was dubbed “the best dance of the night” by Head Judge Len Goodman.

Runner Up: James Van Der Beek and Emma

The Dawson’s Creek star is partnered with one of my favorite pros, Emma, and his rumba was one of the best dances of the season so far. He manages to make dancing look so easy! As for Emma: she’s won before, so she has what it takes to choreograph another great freestyle in the finale.

3rd: Kate Flannery and Pasha

The Office star is definitely the surprise of the season for me- she’s over 50 but her dancing is so fun to watch and her scores are up there with the top of the pack. It’s her partner Pasha’s first season as a pro dancer, but his choreography looks great so far and he knows exactly how to please all 3 judges. Carrie Ann Inaba commented, “That was amazing. I’m blown away by your technique.”

4th: Ally Brooke and Sasha

Former Fifth Harmony member and now soloist Ally Brooke has the charisma for sure and I’ve seen so much improvement in her already. Her week 3 rumba for movie night was a tribute to her favorite singer Selena, and she was tied for top of the leaderboard with Kate.

5th: Sailor Brinkley-Cook and Val

Model Sailor Brinkley-Cook stepped into the competition three days before the first show when her mom, model Christie Brinkley, broke her arm during rehearsals. Sailor is incredibly bubbly, which is sure to snag her lots of votes. Her dances so far have been pretty good, but not great. Country singer Lauren Alaina will be a close 6th behind her.
