As much as I love finding new, funny TV shows, I normally get bored if I’m just watching TV without doing anything else. Because of that, my favorite TV shows are usually ones that I can play while doing homework or cleaning my room. Here is the list of my current favorite shows to watch.Â
1. New Girl
This is the show my roommates and I constantly have on repeat when we don’t know what else to watch. I think I have seen this all the way through at least twice, and it just seems to get funnier each time I watch it. I don’t think New Girl needs much explanation, but I definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a happy show to watch.
2. Arrested Development
Even though Arrested Development is a really popular TV show, I still think it doesn’t get enough attention. There are so many jokes that reappear, and I always notice new inside jokes each time I watch. I recommend starting this show from the very beginning because I think getting to know the characters and the plot makes the whole show even more fun.
3. I think You Should Leave
I Think You Should Leave is probably the funniest show I’ve ever watched. Its episodes are super short, and are each made up of about four to six different skits, most of them featuring the creator, Tim Robinson. I think this is by far funnier than SNL or any other similar shows, and it never fails to make me laugh. There are two different seasons of this show, and I think season two is my favorite, but both are amazing.
4. The Dropout
This show is on Hulu, and I’ve been waiting for it to come out for a few weeks. I’ve loved the first few episodes. It tells the story of Elizabeth Holmes and her company, Theranos, that claimed they could conduct hundreds of blood tests through a quick and easy finger prick. Throughout the years, she collected billions of dollars from investors and different companies. It was then discovered that the entire company was a fraud, and this machine never worked. This is a really sad story that affected thousands of people, but the show is really interesting and detailed, and I’m definitely looking forward to the next few episodes.
5. Once Upon a Time
This show came out when I was in middle/high school, and I remember people talking about it, but I never had a chance to watch it. Last semester, I started watching it because my roommate recommended it, and it quickly became one of my favorite shows. It tells a really interesting story about classic fairytale characters, but also shows their experience in the “real world.” I’ve only watched the first four seasons so far, but I’ve loved everything I’ve seen.
All of these shows are great to watch by yourself or with friends, and I definitely recommend checking any of them out!
