As an iconic comedic actress, Tina Fey has taken on a variety of roles in television shows and films. She is well-known for her role as the quirky Liz Lemon on 30 Rock. As Collegiettes, we should see her as an inspiration for many reasons…
1. Lemon knows her stuff. Especially when it comes to getting out of jury duty. Received your summons while school is in session? She certainly knows what to do: use the Force!
…all kidding aside, there is something to be said about Lemon’s creativity that is inspiring. The amount of time that she spent crafting this costume and getting into character shows that she is a very determined individual.
2. Out for the evening and already bought yourself a drink, but then a cute guy offers to buy you another? No worries Collegiettes, according to Liz Lemon, drinks are not the only things that he can buy you on your night out!
3. She is not afraid to reward herself when she accomplishes something. Received a good grade on an exam or got the internship you worked so hard to get? Definitely be proud of your accomplishment and acknowledge that it happened. Even if you do not have a friend nearby to share the good news with.
4. She is not afraid to admit that she does not know what she wants to do in life. We are constantly told that we need to know what we want to do after college, and often dread the thought of it. Uncertainty is totally normal!
5. Lemon has a great “mentor,” Jack Donaghy. Their relationship alone can inspire Collegiettes to find a close companion who is there for you–no matter what–and provides you with great advice.
6. And of course we all can learn from Liz and Jenna’s friendship. We always need that one crazy girlfriend to pal around with.
7. You can’t help but be inspired by Liz Lemon’s ability to get out of awkward situations (especially the ones she least expects). She is so good at just rolling with the moment.
8. Lastly, Lemon faces her job head-on and courageously tackles all obstacles that come her way. We can certainly find inspiration from this when we are rolling right into finals week…
