“In my Eras Era”: A Complete Guide and Debrief of the Taylor Swift Eras Tour!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mass Amherst chapter.

Miss Taylor Alison Swift is on tour for the first time since 2018, and the Swifties are going crazy! Taylor announced her “Eras” tour on the 1st of November last year — but this tour isn’t like any other. She described it as “a journey through all my musical eras.” Simply put, this means that she will perform songs across all her 10 albums spanning her musical career thus far.

The first leg of the tour kicked off in Glendale, Arizona, on the 18th of March. The last U.S. show will be in Los Angeles, California on the 5th of August. Swift also has eight openers including, but not limited to, Phoebe Bridgers, Gracie Abrams, HAIM, and girl in red, all of whom periodically switch between her different shows in different cities.

Since her first show, Swifttok (slang for Taylor Swift Tiktok) has blown up with videos of the setlist, speculations about upcoming shows, innovative fan outfits representing her different albums or “eras,” and videos of the pop star performing. After meticulously stalking updates on The Eras Tour, here’s what I’ve gathered so far.

Each show lasts for about five hours, with Taylor’s solo set consisting of 44 songs on the setlist, lasting three hours itself, divided into 10 “sections” to represent her different musical eras. The 44 songs on the setlist stay consistent for each show, but Taylor also performs two “surprise songs” each show, which are performed completely acoustic. In order to keep the mystery element alive, the surprise songs do not repeat, giving each show two new songs.

Swifties countrywide have blown up TikTok with their outfits, with the most common trends involving high-heeled boots, cowboy hats, and shimmery dresses.

Here are a couple of key factors to keep in mind to have the best time. Firstly, most stadiums require a clear bag so make sure you have one because it makes it that much easier to clear through security. Staying hydrated is a must and carrying a small water bottle can be helpful too. Moreover, comfortable shoes are essential. The concert is pretty long and the last thing you want is for your high heels to make it harder to walk and dance. Trust me, your feet will be so thankful if you wear flat shoes! If you’re interested in buying tour-exclusive merchandise, be sure to get there early (especially if you have a car – finding parking can be a task) because lines get super lengthy.

Some other things include the fact that there are no bad seats! Being at a Taylor Swift concert is a special experience as it is, and with ticket prices being through the roof after the Ticketmaster incident, you should in no way feel pressured to buy”‘better seats.” A lot of people with nosebleeds had great unobstructed views and enjoyed their experience just the same regardless. Remember, the focus is on having fun and making memories for a lifetime always!
