This year is looking a lot different than we’re used to. Most of us are stuck inside and having contact with a lot less people. But that doesn’t mean we can’t have a fun fall season. Here are some tips on how to make the most of your fall season even during quarantine (and be safe)!
- Have a halloween movie marathon countdown
-
There are so many Halloween movies and countdown specials that you can do until the 31st, and it’s the best way to spend a night in. Some of my favorites are Coraline, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Monster House.
- Carve pumpkins
-
This fun tradition is a really awesome way to get out of the house and hangout with a few friends. Make it even more creative by making jack-o-lanterns too!
- Decorate your place!
-
Even though halloween may look different this year, it doesn’t mean that your place at home has to. Head to the store and grab some cobwebs, window stickers, and some creative decorations to get in the spooky spirit.
- Have a costume contest with your roommates or family on halloween
-
Sad about the Halloween situation? Have an at home costume contest and vote on who has the most creative, scariest, or even funniest costumes to celebrate the spirit in a way that’s a little closer to normal!
- Apple picking
-
It’s the best season for this isn’t it? It’s also another fun activity to get you out of the house and spend some time getting good (and healthy) treats with friends.
- Watch some fall-themed movies or shows
-
Some of my favorites are Twilight and Gilmore Girls! After a busy day of online schooling, treat yourself by binging some fall themed shows or movies to get in the cozy mood.
- Vote! It’s election season so make sure you register so that your voice heard this year!
-
This year is super important in our political system and it’s critical to make sure you vote. You can register online really quickly, and there’s several options on how you can plan out the way you’ll vote.
- Make some fall themed treats
-
Apple pie, pumpkin bread, and apple cider are just a few good ways to spend time and get a delicious snack out of it! Look up some recipes and get creative with fall spices and flavors.
Even though this Halloween and fall season are looking different than normal, it doesn’t mean that you can’t celebrate it at home safely. Whether it’s with roommates, family, or even by yourself, make sure to treat yourself to a spooky season (with some candy as well)!
