The other day, one of the HC girls recommended I investigate this jewelry company, Made With Love in Brazil. I had heard of them before, but as spring is approaching and simplistic bracelets are in for the hotter seasons, I decided to give them another look. I was pleasantly surprised to find that these products are both cute and philanthropic.

Made With Love in Brazil is a company who makes “fashion with a heart.” Founded in 2006 by fashion designer, Mary Jane Marcasiano, Made With Love in Brazil is a non-profit that designs unique, handmade jewelry, clothing and home goods. The proceeds go to women and children’s charities in Brazil, Africa and Haiti.  Marcasiano has been in the fashion business over 25 years as well as an active patron of the arts; she was President of the Board of Directors of DanceBrazil, a non-profit dance company made to culturally connect Brazil and the United States. She wanted to do more for Brazil, so she created Made With Love in Brazil, combining her passions of fashion and helping the people of Brazil, her “adopted” home.

Made With Love in Brazil has gotten so much press, being in magazines like Brazil Vogue, Rolling Stone, and Marie Claire. Famous fans of the brand include Rachel Ray and Coldplay’s Chris Martin, who partnered with the brand during the band’s Viva la Vida tour.

I really like the bracelets and am definitely going to rock one this summer with lots of gold bangles, over-sized sunnies, some denim cutoffs and a slouchy top. When it comes to non-profit’s like Made With Love in Brazil, you can’t go wrong because the products are quality and you’re contributing to a great cause!
