CAUSEBOX: The More Sustainable Subscription Box

Never heard of CAUSEBOX? I hadn’t either until I stumbled upon a video ad on Facebook a few months ago. I had always been intrigued by the idea, and I see influencer ads about FabFitFun boxes almost every day on Instagram, so I decided to learn more about the company before giving it a try.  I watched the full 11-minute video, where a member of the CAUSEBOX team went through the entire Fall Box and described each product in detail.  I was amazed by how many high quality products were included, and how each one was thoughtfully chosen. 

The company differs from any other one like it because of its focus on sustainability and equality, which is really what sold me.  

First of all, CAUSEBOX is a Certified B Corp – which means meeting a certain standard for “sustainability, employment practices, and corporate structure” to put people and environment above profits, according to the company’s website.  The CAUSEBOX slogan is even “Better Products for Better World,” which really says it all.  Each of their products is chosen specifically for how it impacts people, as well as the world around us.  In this year’s Fall Box, one of their items was a set of 10 makeup brushes from a company called la beauté Soi.  Not only are the brushes handmade and the case made completely cruelty-free of vegan leather, the company also teamed up with CAUSEBOX to eliminate all plastic used in their packaging for this collaboration, reducing their carbon footprint. Having worked in the retail industry, I know firsthand how much plastic is used to wrap products every day, and just how wasteful this practice really is.  The fact that this company is making a conscious effort to reduce the amount of plastic they use in their packaging is really something worth supporting. 

Besides teaming with brands that focus on sustainability, CAUSEBOX also partners with companies that are charitable and often women-owned.  This is important in our world today, because of the inequality that takes place all around the world.  In the Fall Box, for example, the company Nashelle teamed up with CAUSEBOX to offer a beautiful necklace, and I found out that Nashelle actually donates 10 meals to families in need for every product sold.  This rare quality is what makes CAUSEBOX so important and impressive in the profit-driven society we live in today. 

Another great thing about CAUSEBOX is that some of the items are referred to as “Choice Products” meaning that members with an annual subscription can choose between two or three items, making their boxes completely customizable.  For example, this year’s Winter Box allows members to choose between either a Daily Hair Vitamin or a 4-in-1 Correcting Primer (both a $30 value!) This way, if one product is needed more than the other, then you can make sure that it is included in your box.  This is also a great feature if you are planning on re-gifting any of the items, because you can choose a product specifically for the person you have in mind.  If you are hesitant to re-gift any of the products – don’t be.  Everything included in these boxes are of outstanding value (totaling over $300) and re-gifting something that is better suited for someone else supports their mission of living sustainably.

If you’re someone, like me, who has always been intrigued by subscription boxes, then CAUSEBOX should be the one you try.  Supporting sustainability and charitability while also treating yourself to amazing products for a fraction of the price really is a no-brainer.
