Autumn is in full swing as we near the end of October, and with the change in temperature and the transitioning of the leaves, it’s time to set your sights on some attractions that will get you feeling connected to your new home. Make the most out of the fall season by grabbing grab a couple friends, throwing on your favorite fall outfit and sipping your pumpkin-spice latte as you head over to these classics.

1. See the fall foliage.

The Quabbin Reservoir and the Mount Tom Reservation are two great spots to enjoy the vibrant scenery that the autumn season brings. Both places offer outstanding views, as there’s an outlook tower at the Quabbin and a mountain-top view from Mount Tom. The crisp, open air makes for a perfect place to enjoy the wild outdoors … and maybe even snap some post-worthy pics for Instagram.

2. Pick the perfect pumpkin.

Located at 109 Easthill Road in Monson, Westview Farms Creamery is a charming little place where you can enjoy great food, ice cream and pumpkin picking. They also offer a new corn maze and a pen filled with friendly little goats waiting to see some new faces! On top of that, the hillside view is unbeatable, especially as the seasons change and the hills melt into different hues.

3. Go apple cider sippin’.

Set aside some special days for all things apple related: the North Hadley Sugar Shack and Market and the Franklin County CiderDays Festival in Deerfield are worth your time! On Nov. 4 and 5, the Sugar Shack will be serving apple cider and an exclusive delicious breakfast. In addition, their market sells an array of locally harvested maple syrup products which are sure to cure that sweet tooth! In addition, the CiderDays festival will be serving up a hard cider tasting for those over 21 from Nov. 3 to Nov. 5, as well as live music and tours of the orchards.

With so many scenic and welcoming places in the area, you will certainly find something to do that interests you, and all your friends or family members too. Even a simple ride through the Amherst countryside is enough to satisfy your fix of beautiful autumn scenery that this season has to offer, along with the plentiful array of fresh apple cider donuts and fall-themed dishes from around town.
