1. Snow Days! (Duh)
Snow days, something that in high school we may have gotten slightly irritated at due to the fact that we had to make them up at the end of the year… but now, they provide us with a scot-free day off from classes. Plus, when else can you skip the gym, drink wine, and watch movies all day without feeling guilty?
2. Obligatory Snow Insta
Is there a better way to get likes than posing with friends in the middle of a blizzard? Could trees look any prettier covered in snow? Is your pale self ever gonna look tanner than when you’re lying in white snow? Snap some shots, and rack up those likes.
3. Shovel Off Your Car With the Help of a Cutie
So you walk out to your car, looking your cutest in your new hat, scarf, mittens, boots and perfectly natural rosy cheeks and OOPS you forgot your shovel. Looks like you’ll have to ask the hunk next to you if you can use his. The more snow = the more time it will take to clear it off and the more chit chat you’ll have, so let it snow ladies.
4. Put On Real Clothes During a Storm… NO CHANCE.
What kind of crazy person puts on real clothes during a blizzard? Not me, that’s for sure. Grab your XL sweats and a t-shirt and get your lounge on. For some odd reason you decide to face the storm and step outside? Swap those sweats for an oversized sweater with leggings, throw on snow boots and you have a perfectly acceptable blizzard friendly outfit.
5. Take a Day Off From Work
Sorry boss, the roads are terrible and my car is stuck, I won’t be making it into work today. Stay safe!
6. Re-connect With Your Roommates
Too often as college students we are running in a million directions at once, doing our best to balance out our lives. We lose ourselves to class, clubs, homework, the gym, and work. Roommates are almost always on different schedules, and Monday through Friday see very little of each other. So take a snow day to re-connect, curl up on the couch together, order takeout, and take advantage of the fact that you’re all for lack of a better word, stuck.Â
7. Clean Your House
Okay… so the vacuuming, mopping, and dusting the top of the fridge has been put off for a few days (weeks) now. We get it, you’re busy and putting tedious tasks like that on the back burner is 100% acceptable. But guess what, now you’re stuck in your house in a blizzard with no where to go. So before you hit the couch, assign tasks and clean the place up!
8. SLED
I don’t care what you say, everyone loves to sled. You go to school in New England, there is absolutely no way you detest the snow, so go play in it. Grab a group of friends, every trashcan lid you can find and hit the slopes. You’ll be amazed at how good it feels to have some good old fashioned fun!
9. Because When a Heat Wave Hits in July, We’ll All Be Complaining!
Appreciate New England weather. Very few places get the best of both worlds, the sun, the snow, the heat and the bitter cold. Love the snow, and appreciate it while it’s here, because I can guarantee you when it hits 100 in July,  you’ll be tweeting about how you can’t wait to go skiing.
