7 Must-Buy Fall Fashion Dupes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mass Amherst chapter.

Sweater weather is back once again, which for me means making Pillsbury Halloween cookies, binging the Twilight series, and spending entirely too much money on my fall wardrobe. It’s so easy to fall into a trap when it comes to fall fashion trends, so this year, I made it my mission to find the cute clothes I had been wanting, but for half the price. If you rely on retail therapy exceedingly just as I do, this list is perfect for you.

Gray Flare TNA Sweatpants

Flare sweatpants have been all the rage lately, and Aritzia is no exception. Their adorable TNA sweatpants are cozy, soft, and perfect for lounging around on a cold fall weekend. However, you can get them without breaking the bank. Target sells an almost identical pair, and let me just say — they are so comfortable. Totally worth it if you want that flare style for a cheaper cost.

Boston Birks

To be completely transparent here, I don’t think the Boston Birkenstocks are worth what they cost. Hence why when I was scrolling through TikTok the other day and found a dupe, I was so excited. I have seen this shoe everywhere in “must-have” lists for fall. They are so comfy and the price is right. If you’re looking for a comfy fall lounge shoe, this is it.

  • Amazon’s price: $39.99

90’s Leather pants

I absolutely adore anything paired with leather pants, but everything I wanted to buy was so expensive… until now. Places like Abercrombie & Fitch sell their 90’s leather look for upwards of $100, but stores like Forever 21 sell it for a fraction of the cost. Now you can rock the fall look going out without breaking the bank.

URBAN OUTFITTERS “Modern Love” CORSET

I genuinely think the Urban Outfitters corset is flattering on everyone, and I’d be amiss if I didn’t admit I have one myself. Despite how cute popular the going out top is, it also happens to be wicked expensive. Amazon has a dupe that looks almost identical for a much lower price. If you love this top like I do and want more, definitely go with Amazon’s version to save some money.

Doc marten Chelsea boots

I love a good pair of Doc Martens. I have a few, and while they are a pain to break in, they are absolutely a fall staple for me. Unfortunately, one pair can cost upwards of $200. Target sells pairs that look super similar and still achieve that fall look goal. Definitely a “worth-it” purchase!

SHORT UGG BOOTS

The short UGG boots were big last winter, and I’ve already seen a resurgence of them on campus. This shoe is very comfy and I am so glad we are bringing UGGs back. Although this shoe is super 2000s and adorable, it is also super pricey, especially for a broke college student. After some hunting, I found a pair that I feel is pretty similar to the original without it being an obvious dupe. Perfect for the colder weather!

BRANDY MELVILLE CHRISTY HOODIE

If you’re anything like me, you’re always on the lookout for comfy clothes. Brandy’s Christy hoodie is one of my favorites, but it’s also expensive for what it is: a classic zip-up hoodie. Although this can be a lifesaver in the colder fall weather, there are places to find a similar style for much cheaper. Definitely a great dupe if you want multiples!

  • Hanes’ price: $17 (on sale)

Fall is one of my favorite seasons for a reason, and a big part of that has to do with the fashion. Finding dupes has been a lifesaver for me in the past, especially when it comes to popular items. Now you too can go on that apple-picking outing without spending hundreds of dollars on the perfect trendy outfit.
