6 Reasons Why I Love My Mother In Recognition Of Women’s History Month

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mass Amherst chapter.

In honor of Women’s History Month, I would like to dedicate an article to a woman I look up to and love with all my heart, my mother. If you’re reading this Mom, I hope you enjoy this, and thank you for always being there for me. Here are six reasons why I love you…

MY MOM GIVES THE BEST ADVICE

My mom would give me advice any chance she gets. Whether it would be about love, people, or life she would constantly open my eyes and teach me new things every time. She is a wise woman that doesn’t let her knowledge go to waste. I am forever grateful that she wants the best for me, and is willing to advise me through every situation possible.

MY MOM ALWAYS SUPPORTS ME

Whenever I would show interest in something new like painting, sewing, or music, she doesn’t question it. Instead, she encourages me by buying any supplies needed and doesn’t stop me from pursuing what I like. She would even put up my artwork in her office and proudly show my skills to everyone she knew.

MY MOM HAS SO MUCH PERSEVERANCE

I understand it was not always easy for her to raise me as a single mom. But I’m very thankful that she did not give up on me through the hardships. I’m especially grateful for when she would show up for me for any event even after a long day at work. Or when she would take a day off from work just to take care of me when I had a cold. Or cooking me my favorite food even if she hasn’t eaten yet. These are just a few examples of how much my mom does for me, and why she is my role model.

MY MOM GAVE EVERYTHING SHE COULD GIVE ME

I’m very lucky to have a mom who cares so much about my birthday, my accomplishments, and my happiness. She would make sure I had the best birthday and would give me a big birthday party with my friends, food, and presents! She would make sure I was rewarded with a gift every time I did something good even if it was something small. She would make sure I got everything I deserved and makes every effort to make me feel special.

MY MOM IS PROTECTIVE

Although I used to be annoyed about this trait of hers, I realized that she was only looking out for me as I got older. My mom cares about my well-being and makes sure I’m in a safe environment at all times. I didn’t understand why she would always bug me about my whereabouts or how I feel, but now I know it’s because her love for me is so strong.

MY MOM IS MY BEST FRIEND

As like every other best friend we would do everything and go everywhere together. We would even share everything too. I’m very fortunate to have the opportunity to spend quality time with my mom and have this close relationship with her. I would always feel happy whenever we would have our movie nights or a shopping spree.

I could go on and on about how much I love my mom, but I wanted to show my admiration for her in honor of Women’s History Month. She is a woman that I am forever grateful to have in my life, and I’m so thankful for everything she has done for me. She deserves the world! If you’re reading this, Mom…I love you.
