Being short is often affiliated with being cute, compact, and small but having a short stature isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be. Us small fries face challenges on the daily and most of these occurences happen so often that we don’t even notice anymore! As I reflect, I realize that there are many short girl problems that I’ve encountered. What I’ve learned from it though is that you’ve got to just laugh it off. If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em! Here are a few things that I’ve experienced and I’m sure my fellow half pints have too:
1) Being asked by a customer if you’re old enough to be working (I was a freshman in college)
2) Cooking turns into a giant project
3) Going straight to the “short” jeans section in American Eagle
And they’re still too long…
4) Basically running to keep up with a taller person’s walk
5) Your feet just don’t reach…
6) Receiving a kid’s menu until you’re 18
So we still get carded at the move theater and can barely make the height requirement for roller coasters. Oh well! Here’s to the short life and the many hilarious moments it shall bring.
