The wind on the UMass campus is real right now and our hair is taking a huge toll. When you wake up with extra time in the morning, you might decide to do something special to your hair before class. However once you pass DuBois, your cute hair is a gone. The 40 mph wind literally almost sweeps you off of your feet and messes up your strategically tousled hair. To avoid super messy wind hair, try these cute hairstyles that won’t budge with the wind and remember–hairspray is your friend.
1. The Classic Ponytail
The classic ponytail is a go-to when you are on a time constraint in the morning, but it also has major wind resistance. Pull out some loose pieces in the front of your head to create a softer look.
If you want a sleeker look, flat iron your strands and brush it all back with a paddle brush. Finish with hairspray all over to maintain the sleek shine.
2. The French Braid
The one French braid that goes along your head is a great look. If you have long enough hair, pull the tail to the front, then loosen up the braid and pull out pieces to make the look a bit more romantic. You can also add in a cute headband if you want to look a bit more polished.
3. The Double Dutch Braid
This is for the sports luxe look. Divide your hair down the middle and start braiding.
4. Half-up
Pull your hair into a half-up, half-down hairstyle. To be on trend, make sure the half up section is a high ponytail. You’ll be giving off serious ’90’s vibes.

5. Hat it
Baseball caps or “dad hats” are always in style due to the convenience of hiding bad hair days. You can leave your hair down or have your hair in a ponytail underneath the hat.
