On those hot summer days, nothing quenches our thirst quite like a fruity drink. Whether you’re swinging on a hammock in your backyard or BBQing on the beach, be sure to keep these recipes in mind to turn the heat up a notch.

Sex on the Beach

This is a classic, and a personal favorite of mine. It will instantly refresh and soothe your worries, and the recipe is quite simple.

  • 1 1/2 oz vodka
  • 1/2 oz peach schnapps
  • 2 oz cranberry juice
  • 2 oz orange juice

Pina Colada

Another drink that is sure to please, so grab your blender and give it a go! The perfect combination of pineapple and coconut will take you away on a blissful escape.

  • 1 1/2 oz rum
  • 2 oz pineapple juice
  • 2 oz coconut purée
  • 1 cup crushed ice

Kahlua Sunrise

If you’re looking for something indulgent and reminiscent of your morning coffee, this is the drink for you.  Not only will it satisfy your sweet tooth, but it will also give you that extra kick you need to get through the day.

  • 3 oz Kahlua Liqueur
  • 4 squirts of chocolate syrup (~1 tablespoon)
  • 1 cup milk

Strawberry Freeze

This fruity drink will take your mind away on a sweet vacation.  You’ll feel like you’re in a world of palm trees and luaus, that’s what this heavenly concoction tastes like.

  • 1 1/2 oz strawberry vodka
  • 1/2 cup frozen yogurt
  • 1/2 oz lime vodka
  • 1/2 oz peach schnapps
  • 1/2 cup vanilla milk

Corona with a Lime

So, this may not involve much work besides finding a bottle opener, but really, what’s better than an ice cold Corona on the beach? Stock up your cooler, grill those burgers, and get ready for those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer!

Enjoy, Collegiettes!
