3 Cozy Coffee Shops Near Amherst You HAVE to Visit This Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mass Amherst chapter.

Looking for seasonal coffees to get you feeling festive this fall? Here’s a few coffee shops in the area that can help — they’re all special little spots in their own ways, and, from one coffee lover to another, are all definitely worth checking out!

Share Coffee

Share coffee is particularly awesome because their coffee is roasted in Hadley! They use their own blend, automatically making this little shop a true coffee lover’s dream. You can even purchase your own bag of locally roasted espresso beans (which comes with a free drink!). To further ensure that your coffee is unique and top-of-the-line, Share goes above and beyond by making their own syrups in-house as well! Not to mention their seasonal autumn spice syrup that you’ve got to try…

The shop itself is just about the coziest it gets. It is beautiful and homey inside; exactly everything a college town coffee shop should be. Just minutes away from campus, Share is located in downtown Amherst. There is plenty of space inside for a study sesh, and there is even some outdoor seating as well!

Familiars Coffee & Tea

To visit Familiars Coffee & Tea during the fall, you might need to bundle up! Their seating is outdoors, and it is a lovely setup that you just have to experience for yourself — especially when the street is closed off for pedestrians only. But the seating is only a small part of why this coffee shop is so unique. They have a huge variety of beverages, such as shrubs sodas, cider and chaider, and flavored lemonades; and they change frequently, so you gotta go often to try them all! Each of their lovely flavors are also made in-house. This fall, they’re serving up two delicious coffee flavors (I speak from experience): pumpkin spice and salted maple caramel! They also serve delicious breakfasts and lunches, and carry Tandem bagels!

Familiars is an inviting little shop, and they even have live music play in the street rather frequently! It is located in downtown Northampton and is very much worth visiting if you ever find yourself in the area.

Woodstar Cafe

Woodstar Cafe is a cute little spot tucked away in downtown Northampton. They have great coffee (including a seasonal spicy maple latte that is to die for), other specialty teas and smoothies, and plenty of delicious baked goods and sandwiches. Their oversized cookies are a personal favorite of mine, but they have other incredible baked goods ranging from tarts to homemade breads — all of which are incredible. They have a fantastic selection of gluten-free items as well!

This cafe is a bit on the smaller side, but it packs a punch with its bright and colorful atmosphere and a beautiful outdoor seating arrangement. There is something for everyone in this little shop; you really can’t go wrong!

Switch up your fall coffee drinks this fall! Venture from your typical Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts order and support these local businesses; I promise you won’t regret it.
