10 Songs You Need on Your Halloween Party Playlist

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mass Amherst chapter.

It is now officially spooky season, and with that comes Halloween parties! Here are ten songs that you need on your Halloween party playlist, old and new, that will make everyone get in the Halloween mood.

1.) “Heads Will Roll” by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and A Trak

This one obviously comes in first place. It has always been a good party song, but it just makes more sense during Halloween time. Make sure you get the remix and not the original or you will just be disappointed.

2.) “Maneater” by Nelly Furtado

This song has a title that makes it acceptable for Halloween, but it is also just a good song in general.

3.) “Get Ghost” by Mark Ronson, Passion Pit, and A$AP Ferg

The theme from Ghostbusters is a Halloween classic, and can’t be left off of a Halloween playlist. This is a reminder to watch Ghostbusters, the ultimate Halloween movie!

4.) “Werewolves of London” by Warren Zevon

My mom introduced me to this song, and it is very catchy to listen to during all seasons. You are probably telling yourself you don’t know it, but you have most likely heard it, even though it’s moderately old.

5.) “Heathens” by Twenty One Pilots

You know it, you love it, and you probably haven’t heard it in five years. It gives off a slightly disturbing vibe, but it still very catchy.

6.) “Disturbia”

Any Rihanna song is great for a party, but “Disturbia” specifically has Halloween vibes.

7.) “E.T.” by Katy Perry and Kanye West

The same goes for this song! You need to get the Kanye West remix for it to be at its max potential.

8.) “Haunted” by Taylor Swift

Now this song has no Halloween vibe to it, but it has to be on every Halloween playlist solely for its name. In my opinion, any Taylor Swift song is acceptable to listen to at any time, so this is no different.

9.) “Bury a Friend” by Billie Eilish

This song has an ominous sound that was produced by Billie’s classic soft voice contrasted by a few occasional words from a man’s background vocals. It is also just a bop in general, like everything Billie does.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST…

10.) “Monster Mash” by Bobby “Boris” Pickett

This will forever be a Halloween classic that adults and kids alike know all the words to. It emanates a certain kind of Halloween energy that can’t be replicated by anything else.

I hope you are able to add some of these songs to your playlist so that you can have a happy Halloween!
