So, the Super Bowl is here, and that means you’re probably headed to a Super Bowl party. Let’s be honest though, you most likely aren’t going to the party to watch the Patriots stomp the Seahawks– you are going for the mass amounts of food that will be offered. Even if you are not a football fan, the Super Bowl is a night of great food and even better commercials. Whether you love football or hate it, it’s only custom that you at least pretend you’re watching the game… while stuffing your face because the Super Bowl is like Thanksgiving where calories don’t count. If you’re invited to a party it’s nice to bring an appetizer, dip, dessert or entree. Here are two classic recipes that will make your evening a touchdown no matter who wins.

Game Day Wings

Ingredients:3/4 cup all-purpose flour1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper1/2 teaspoon garlic powder1/2 teaspoon salt20 chicken wings (or more depending on your guest size)1/2 cup melted butter1/2 cup hot sauce (Frank’s hot sauce)

Directions:1. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, and lightly grease with cooking spray. Place the flour, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and salt into a resealable plastic bag, and shake to mix. Add the chicken wings, seal, and toss until well coated with the flour mixture. Place the wings onto the prepared baking sheet, and place into the refrigerator. Refrigerate at least 1 hour.2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).3. Whisk together the melted butter and hot sauce in a small bowl. Dip the wings into the butter mixture, and place back on the baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven until the chicken is no longer pink in the center, and crispy on the outside, about 45 minutes. Turn the wings over halfway during cooking so they cook evenly.

Avocado, Mango, Tomato Salsa

Ingredients:1 mango- peeled, seeded and diced1 avocado- peeled, pitted and diced4 medium tomatoes, diced1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro 3 cloves garlic, minced1 teaspoon salt2 tablespoons fresh lime juice1/4 cup chopped red onion3 tablespoons olive oil

Directions: In a medium bowl, combine the mango, avocado, tomatoes, jalapeno, cilantro, and garlic. Stir in the salt, lime juice, red onion, and olive oil. To blend the flavors, refrigerate for about 30 minutes before serving.
