Let’s be real, the last couple of years have been crazy. But now we are finally getting back to some normalcy and spring break is just around the corner! Though, this economic market is not on the buyer’s side, so here are some tips to still have an awesome spring break, even on a budget.

First things first, if you’re planning on booking a trip to Miami or wherever your heart so desires, BOOK IT NOW! Lots of people think that they’ll be able to snag a last-minute hot deal but the truth is: you won’t (at least not in the current market). Domestic, round-trip airline tickets are averaging at $234, which is almost a record low. They are expected to rapidly rise as the first half of 2022 goes on, so your best time to buy would be now. Plus, the closer you are to the date of your travel plans, the price is likely to rise due to the cheaper seats already being sold out.

Maybe you’re not one who wants to go to a completely different state for a week and instead would just like to book a stay in a city close by to get away for a couple of days. Instead of looking at major hotel websites, try looking at Airbnb or a similar website. Since Airbnbs are privately owned rental spaces, it can be more affordable, you’ll have your own area for cooking so you can save on going out for meals, and you can even find some really interesting places to stay rather than a normal hotel room. And if you’re worried about cleanliness Airbnb has introduced many new protocols since COVID-19 started such as an “enhanced clean” certificate. This tells you that the host has followed the company’s five-step enhanced cleaning process.

To save on some money and if you’re feeling tired of staring at the same old walls, you could also try a day trip to see some local attractions or even try camping. These are both options that would be more economically friendly since there’s not too much you have to pay for. If you decide to take a day trip, you don’t even need to worry about hotel, flight, or much of a gas cost. Camping is also a fun and potentially cheap way to get yourself out of the house. Just make sure you do it safely by having someone else with you and telling others where you will be staying.

Overall, this spring break can be awesome if you play your cards right. Don’t get caught up in the craziness of the current state of things. Take spring break as a time to relax and get caught up with yourself or some friends. Remember to be safe and have fun!
