A sneak peak to London’s Fashion Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Maine chapter.

It has been a few days since Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week came to an end. We are now in the ealy stages of London Fashion week.

With all of the fashions that were shown at MBFW, there were a few similarities in collections.

There are ten items that are going to be a must have in every woman’s spring/summer 2014 wardrobe that will come straight from the runway!

1. White pants are going to be HUGE this spring and summer. Pair them with a bright colored shirt, or even a white shirt to go with an all white outfit. It is bold, daring, and above all else, chic!

2. A well fitted sheath dress is going to get you through your summer job (Unless you work at a place where you can dress down). Accentuate a smaller waist by getting it tailored to fit your body. Make sure it is an appropriate length!

3. High waisted shorts are coming back this summer again so do not throw them away!

4. Get a volumous skirt! It has to be high waisted, and it will accentuate a smaller waist while masking bigger hips!

5. Satin skirts are in for spring and summer. Their shiny material makes it a fun element in your wardrobe.

6. Grab everyone’s attention by wearing bright colored dresses! Studies have shown that people are attracted to the color red!

7. Strapless dresses are going to be in again this summer, pair these dresses with a gladiator sandal, and a pair of large sunglasses!

8. Attact everyone’s attention with a fun or wild print dress or shirt. Summertime is for fun, so have fun with a wild and crazy print!

9. Lacoste did a whole line of white sheer outfits, head to toe. It was super crisp and clean so get some sheer, however, beware of wearing colored bras underneath! Stick with a similar color as your skin tone; you want people to see you are wearing a sheer shirt…not that you are wearing a bright pink bra with frogs on it!

10. Cut out dresses are coming back again this spring and summer, so do not throw those out either! Make sure the cut outs flatter your body!

All of these looks were shown at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week last week. Keep your wardrobe looking summer-fresh and rock these looks!
