My Experience Working at Victoria’s Secret PINK

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Maine chapter.

Victoria’s Secret is one of the most well-known brands for everything sexy. Its sister store, PINK, is targeted towards ladies beginning their bra journey all the way to college students. Victoria’s Secret is targeted towards grown women who want to feel sexy for themselves and their partners. I had dreamed about working at Victoria’s Secret/PINK ever since I was a young girl.

As soon as I turned 18, I applied to my local PINK. I was lucky enough to get the job and I have had an amazing time so far. Some of my favorite parts of the job are making people feel comfortable and confident. The best moment is when you get your client into the right size bra, they literally glow! Learning how different bras shape the body has been so enlightening. It has even made my personal shopping experience better!

The hardest part about working at PINK, besides bra measurements, would probably be loyalty. Loyalty is a huge part of working at PINK. We love to know that our customers love the product and want to come back, them singing up for the Angel Card makes that loyalty even clearer. It’s a cool card because usually when you first sign up for the card you can get between $15 to $25 off your purchase. That alone is amazing compared to other stores. You can use it at Victoria’s Secret, PINK, and Bath and Body Works. Lastly, you earn points that get you cash rewards which makes it a great investment.

Talking to people about the Angel Card was very hard for me at first. I felt evil for trying to make people sign up for a credit card. The more I talked about it the easier it was. I had to learn to be okay with people saying no multiple times before I heard a yes. I had to remind myself that the credit card was not something negative, and instead would save people money if they used it right.

My overall experience at PINK has helped me grow as a person. I feel more comfortable communicating with strangers and have become more outgoing. It has also taught me how to work in a fast paced and competitive environment. This being said I thought I would end with some pros and cons of working at PINK.

Pros

  • Our employee discount is 30% off at all Victoria’s Secret , PINK, and Bath and Body Works.
  • We are given 10 50%’s each quarter.
  • We are allowed a free outfit each quarter. We receive a bottom, top, and shirt.
  • We can purchase a “Hot Hookup” which is a shirt and a bra for only 15 dollars.

Cons

  • Folding the panty table multiple times a day. We also must use ROYGBIV (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet) and it took some getting used to.
  • “Go backs” are absolutely horrible, especially if you forget to check the dressing rooms for a while.

There are more pros than cons to working at Victoria’s Secret PINK. If you were debating working at PINK or Victoria’s Secret, I’m telling you, YES 100%!
