We have a special “Mazel of the Week” today, because, for the first time ever, it goes to a rodent. Groundhog’s day was celebrated last week, and for the 125th time, Punxsutawney Phil climbed out of his burrow and held our fate in his hands (paws?). This year, February second was an overcast day in Pennsylvania, and Phil predicted an early spring. Well, well, well Phil, isn’t that ironic? On the day he predicted an early spring, here in Orono we were getting blasted with a blizzard and contemplating snowshoeing to class. So you know what, Phil? I’m calling your bluff. It may be easy for you to chill in your Pennsylvania burrow all winter, meander out, and predict an early spring, but here at Her Campus UMaine we’re not letting you off that easily. It’s hard to imagine that green grass and sunshine will come early this year, amidst the mountains of snow, and ruined boots. So Phil, Mazel to you for seemingly fooling a whole country, but Her Campus UMaine is too slick for that. We’ve got your number, Phil.
