This article is HerCampus UMaine’s first official announcement of UMaine’s 1st Epic Fashion Show! HerCampus has partnered with The Foster Center for Innovation, UNOs, and UMaine for a Cure to bring you a fashion show made by the students, for the students.
WHAT:UMaine’s 1st Epic Fashion Show
WHEN:Wednesday, October 12th, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
WHERE:Foster Center for Student Innovation
HOW TO GET TICKETS:Tickets will be on sale starting Wednesday, October 5th, 2011 in the Student Innovation Center across from Cumberland hall, next to DTAV. Tickets are $5 but limited so make sure to stop by and get your name on the guest list!
The featured lines will include Maine Maven, Designs by Brooke Johnson, Metropolitan Soul’sline of “Save the Tata’s Shirts, Chas Brun’s Maine Home Shirts, Push Shirts, an jewelry by Dani Betters and Courtney Anderson. There will also be a collection of UMaine’s finest artwork on showcase throughout the fashion show and will be dj’d all night long with mash-ups and house music from our very own UMainer Drew King!
This fashion show will be a testament to the talent that makes up UMaine and the surrounding area as well as a time for students to enjoy free catering by UNOs, free Monster Energy drinks, fashion designs by their peers modeled by their peers and MUCH more including free swag-bags filled with goodies that will be handed out at the end!
HerCampus UMaine continuously strives to engulf all aspects of being a female college student and this fashion show is evident of that. There will be something at the fashion show for every type of Collegiette! Our very own HC team member Kathleen Conroy, who is also the Toms Campus Club coordinator at UMaine, will be showcasing different types of TOMs shoes throughout the fashions how as well as a free screening of the TOMs documentary during the first part of the night! Kathleen will be providing us all with more information in an upcoming article.
This Epic Fashion Show was created in hopes that it will live on throughout the years and become a showcase for all types of talent, fashion and art that come out of UMaine and the surrounding area. HerCampus UMaine has been so grateful to be able to partner with Maine Maven and Metropolitan Soul for this event so all you Collegiettes should make sure to stop by, show your appreciation and see what the stores have to offer!
