Fall is upon us, which means pretty soon, fall fashion will be in full swing. And as the leaves start to change, so do our wardrobes. Dressing for fall is something I look forward to every year because there are endless looks that you can make to look cute during the fall months. These are my essentials that I have in my closet for fall.

  1. A staple pair of black or brown boots.

These can really be whatever you choose, some people prefer a heeled bootie while others tend to grab Blundstones or Doc Martens. I think that the brand or style can really be anything you want, but definitely should be a staple in your wardrobe. Boots are so versatile, they can be worn with dresses, jeans, and suitable for day or night.

  1. A button up shirt

A button up shirt is a major staple in my wardrobe, my favorite is a white button up that I can throw over almost any outfit and it will look more put together. It doesn’t necessarily have to be white though, any button up of any color can really elevate your outfit. Another great option is getting corduroy or flannel button ups at Goodwill to really make your fall ‘fit pop.

  1. Sweaters, lots of them

Although I’m sad about summer fading, I could not be more excited to start wearing sweaters. Sweaters are a fall fashion essential. The great thing about sweaters is that they come in just about any style you could dream of. The classic black, tan, and striped sweaters are amazing to have to wear everyday, but sweaters can also be super fun and fresh. Sweaters are the perfect transition piece, they can be worn with jeans, a skirt, or the sweaters can be sleeveless on those warm fall days. Sweaters can be worn into the winter as well, so they’re perfect for all of the seasons.

  1. A great fitting pair of jeans

Getting the right pair of jeans can be hard to find, but having a pair that fits you perfectly and makes you feel confident will make your fall outfit stand out. I know when I have a pair of jeans that fit me well, I wear them several times a week. They truly can elevate your look even with just a basic outfit.

  1. A jacket

Fall can be a time where you don’t know if you need a winter jacket or a t-shirt. Picking up a shacket (shirt-jacket) or some type of jean jacket is a really great piece to add to your outfit. This is a great way to add color to your outfit, even though it’s fall and neutrals are in, that doesn’t mean that you can’t have a pop of color. A patterned jacket can add a little spice to your wardrobe. Another great option to have is a leather jacket, leather has been the moment lately so it can be a great piece to add to any outfit.

  1. Cute sneakers or loafers

My go-to is any white pair of sneakers, but your sneakers can be any color you choose. Even though it can be rainy and muddy during fall, sneakers are great for those really nice fall days. Another great staple is a pair of loafers to dress up your outfit. Instead of wearing sneakers, you can slip on some loafers!
