Drunk Driving During the Holidays

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Maine chapter.

The Holidays are a time for fun, catching up with old friends, and of course parties. Right after Christmas brings the new year. While you are celebrating, just remember it’s fun to be with friends and family, but don’t let that celebration come with a price. Please keep this Holiday season and New year, a joyous occasion. Drinking and Driving is a serious issue around this time of year. No one wants to lose someone they love due to a drunk driver. Driving under the influence is one of the leading causes of deaths this time of year. So please, if your going to a party make sure there is a designated driver and no one leaves without having a safe ride home. There are plenty of alternatives to getting in a car with a drunk driver or driving drunk yourself. Call an Uber, call a cab, call your neighbor, do what you can to get home safely.  We want everyone to have fun and safe holiday celebration!
